The Fresh Start Project

Heather has wanted a garden for a few years now. There’s one problem, she’s never been any good at keeping plants alive. Last year I told her if she could keep a few plants alive, that I would build her a vegetable garden. Well, not only did she keep her end of the deal last season, but we actually had a lot of tomatoes and peppers that we got to enjoy. As a man of my word and with a little help form my neighbor, we cleared out a little section of of land on the side of our house, just right outside the kitchen window. Once we had the soil tilled and the frame built, I needed some help with the planting. Vada was the perfect little helper (except for when she took two handfuls of dirt and dumped them on my head!). It feels great knowing that our family will be eating healthy vegetables grown in our own garden this year. Heather already loves her little garden and I know that she and Vada will make lots of great memories gardening together!

This year we have a much larger variety of vegetables to grow and eat!

3 types of tomatoes
cucumbers
banana peppers
spicy bell peppers
onions
eggplant
zucchini
jalapeƱos
leeks
rosemary
sweet mint
basil
parsley
strawberries (for Vada)
